Very nice! It is hard to find people who draw as well as you and specially felines! (my favorites)

you know, as you say that backgrounds is your 'Achilles heel', I can give you a tip: what I do, when the original picture has not a good background, I look for photographs that asimilate the animal habitat and mix it with the main picture, it's a technique I read from an Animal Drawing book, to mix different elements to from one great outstanding original one... you should try it!
