Wonderful tutorial my dear I love seeing how other artists do their work and how similar my own can be... it just takes years of practice ;-) I really don't think I'd consider you to be an amateur though because after many years there still maybe some things we don't know but that's what pushes us to keep trying and creating new things :D

Bedankt voor het maken van deze tutorial! Ik vind het altijd fijn te zien hoe anderen te werk gaan met kleurpotloden en vooral vacht tekenen.

Je mag dan een amateur zijn, wel een verdomd goede!

Maybe an amateur, but an extremely gifted one. I was looking at some local art from professionals, and it made me wonder at the definition of the term, and wonder why it cost more than my car.....and some more than all the cars I've owned......

A case in point, is Kiwiana, NZ kitch nostalgia for 1960's and 1970's kiwi icons and advertising logos and slogans that I understand but fail to see the appeal. Like someone recycling the embarrassing snapshots from the family album, used to cringe when I first saw them, and nostalgia has done nothing to increase their appeal. I can think of one example that you be able to knock off in about ten minutes, { outlines, solid colour, no shading, black and red on white paper } just gone for $110,215.00, if I say any more they would kick me out of the country.......

Haha, that's bizarre!
But if you were offered such amounts for your work I suppose you wouldn't refuse either.

I like prisma brand, but sometimes It isnt available for me and I get reeves which works just as nice, sometimes with a cheaper price tag. That is really thoughtful of you showing others how to make layers, I've recently gotten back into colored pencil drawings, just is something I love, and I like seeing other people's methods, like reinforcement :) Thanks for putting the time into this, it is appreciated

Thanks a lot for leaving a comment.
Coulered pencil are a very nice medium to work with, I find it very relaxing and neat, after using pastels, which always makes everything dusty and messy

Yes I like to see how other people work too, so that's why I made this tut.

I know what you mean about the pastels, I have to open my window in my office and point the fan towards the window, helps aerate the room, as that pastel chalk dust is REALLY bad to breathe in.

Great to see Sarah, mine are very similar methods and technique when using colored pencils...but the only difference is I haven't tried colored background paper, just white...so the whites I have to preserve as the paper color, because the whites I have in colored pencils look greyed on the white background...but look really white against the colored background like you've used :)

May I ask what paper you use hon? That would help a lot for me :) Thanks!

Lovely work, and I would not consider you an amateur Sarah!! :huggle:

Thanks very much Beverly, I can really recommend Stonehenge paper for coloured pencils, it can take many layers, and it's available in many different colours.
It's very nice to work on coloured paper, especially when you're drawing light coloured things or animals. :iconthumbupplz:
