Jaguar by Sarahharas07 Jaguar by Sarahharas07

Prisma coloured pencils on black Stonhenge paper

Size A4

Panthera onca,

Melanism in the jaguar is conferred by a dominant allele, while in the leopard (Panthera pardus) by a recessive allele.

Black jaguars may produce either black or spotted cubs, but a pair of spotted jaguars can only produce spotted cubs.

This is so unique and beautiful.  The color is florescent making the Jaguar even more realistic.  What a gorgeous species.  At first look I thought it was a panther.  Somehow they must be related in genes.

This work of art look as if you actually got the Jaguar to sit and pose for you...that is how real it looks.

Funny you say that, my first thought was also that this is a panther.
